Sussex and the City, owned by Duncan Innes, sell only products that have been produced or made within 50 miles of Brighton, you can even see how many miles each product has travelled on their website. Their main enthos is to reduce food miles and to ensure everything is as fresh as possible and comes direct from the producer, this means any feedback you have about our products will come back to us via Duncan.

Sussex and the City opened, in May of 2006. Duncan set out to showcase the best of local food and drink. Having previously been the general manager of the environmentally intelligent Japanese restaurant Moshi Moshi, he was aware of many good sources of Sussex specialities. What started out as a bet in a pub with a friend, about the feasibility of opening a shop purely of local food, has developed into an award winning delicatessen.
